About Skype Voice Changer (discontinued)

This program is discontinued. Skype Voice Changer changed your voice in real time during Skype calls, added background sounds and could also record Skype conversations. Microsoft retired Skype on 5 May 2025, so the program no longer has anything to work with. The developer's website (skype-rec.com) is no longer online.

Do not download it from other websites. Copies offered today are unofficial, receive no updates and may be bundled with unwanted software.

What to use instead

  • Former Skype users can move to Microsoft Teams Free by signing in with their Skype account; contacts and chats are carried over.
  • For voice effects today, use a current voice changer that works as a virtual microphone, so it can be used with any calling or chat app.

Frequently asked questions

Does Skype Voice Changer still work?
No. It was made only for Skype calls, and Microsoft retired Skype on 5 May 2025.
Is this the same program as other "Skype Voice Changer" tools?
No. Several unrelated programs used the same name – for example the free Skype Voice Changer from skypevoicechanger.net and AthTek Skype Voice Changer. This page covers the version from the developer of RSkype Recorder (skype-rec.com).
Did the same developer make other Skype tools?
Yes. The same developer also made RSkype Recorder, an automatic Skype call recorder, which is also discontinued.
What replaced Skype?
Microsoft Teams Free. You can sign in to it with your Skype account and your contacts and chats are moved over automatically.
What can I use for voice effects today?
Use a current voice changer that installs as a virtual microphone, so it works with any calling or chat app rather than with one service.
Is it safe to download this program today?
No. The developer's website is gone, so any copy you find elsewhere is unofficial, gets no updates and may contain unwanted software.
