About TorniaiSansUT Typeface BoldItalic Mac (archived)

TorniaiSansUT Bold Italic for Mac was the bold slanted style of the Torniai Sans type family, a sans-serif typeface sold by Unifonts (also known as Unitype), a small font vendor run by Victor de Castro from Monroe, New York.

This page covers the Bold Italic style for Macintosh, sold as a single font. Mac designers used it alongside TorniaiSansUT Bold for emphasised words inside headings, magazine pull quotes and energetic subheads.

Torniai Sans came in five weights – Light, Regular, Bold, Heavy and Black – each with an italic, sold for both Mac and Windows, plus family packs and an old-style figures version (TorniaiSansOsfUT).

Unifonts' website is no longer online, so this font can no longer be licensed. This page is kept as a historical record.
