TorniaiSansOsfUT Black was the heaviest weight of the old-style figures version of Torniai Sans, sold by Unifonts (also known as Unitype), a small font vendor run by Victor de Castro from Monroe, New York.
This page covers the Black style for Windows (PC), sold as a single font. Black with old-style figures is an unusual combination: it gives large display numbers – a year on a poster, an anniversary date, a big chapter numeral – a classic, bookish character instead of the uniform, blocky look of lining digits.
The Osf family included Light, Regular, Bold and Black with italics, plus family packs and Mac editions; TorniaiSansUT Black offered lining figures.
Unifonts' website is no longer online, so this font can no longer be licensed. This page is kept as a historical record.
