About digiKam

digiKam is a free, open-source program for managing large photo collections. It catalogues tens of thousands of photos and lets you find them quickly by date, album, tag, rating, location or person.

Its face recognition runs entirely offline on your own computer, so your photos are not uploaded anywhere. digiKam also reads and edits photo metadata, shows photos on a map by their GPS location, finds duplicates, and includes an editor for RAW and JPEG files with batch processing.

digiKam runs on Windows, Mac and Linux. It is a good choice if organising a big photo library matters more to you than advanced RAW development.
