ApPHP DataValidator was a simple, lightweight tool from ApPHP for primary general data checks on PHP websites. It handled numbers, strings, emails and URLs, with a range of parameters for a wide variety of verifications. All parameters were optional and could be switched on and off for each specific value.
The DataValidator component accepted an array or an object as its data container, so it could easily check values from an HTTP request, a database, a parsed XML or CSV file or any other source, as long as the data was in the correct format (array('key' => 'value')).
Error handling was easy and flexible: if validation failed, you could either use the generated error message or use the error details for logging and informing users in your own style.
Data validation makes sure incoming data has a certain quality or value; the validation runs on the server side.
The component could be used for:
- Database data validation
- Validating function parameters or returned values
- Web form data validation
The ApPHP website now redirects to a different site, and the scripts are no longer sold.
